Studying Hebrew

This section is all about helping you learn Hebrew. If you are here, and if you are truly interested in studying the Bible, then maybe you are like me – thinking about reading the very words that God cause to be written is a pretty amazing thought. Learning Hebrew takes time, but it is worth the time.

As one of my fellow Hebrew studying friends says, reading the Bible in English is powerful. Reading the Bible in Hebrew is like stepping into a 3D Bible where the words convey so much more depth of understanding.

If you are new to reading Hebrew, start in try working through this Hebrew Reader created for lay people, regular people, who just want to learn how to read the Bible in Hebrew, just one lesson at a time without the pressure of quizzes or grades.

The reader would also be good for those who have studied Hebrew before but want to go back and review things.

Below are some of the websites that have helped me grow in my understanding of Hebrew.

Daily Dose of Hebrew – This is not for beginners, but for those who have finished a first year course and want to follow along as these Hebrew teachers work through a verse of the Bible each day.

Hebrew For Christians – This is a great site to help those of you who are beginning to study Hebrew grammar. They do a good job of explaining things and giving examples of the rules.

UnfoldingWord® Hebrew Grammar – This is a site for those who love to dig into grammar and really understand the ins and outs. I love that they give examples from the Bible so you can see Biblical Hebrew in action. But if you are a beginning, you might want to wait and learn a few things before you start digging in to these explantations.
